Liposomal delivery is a method of transporting nutrients or drugs into the body using tiny fat like particles called liposomes. Liposomes are microscopic spheres made from phospholipids, the same material that makes up your cell membranes. Liposomes encapsulate the active ingredient protecting it from stomach acid or enzymes. This allows the nutrient to pass more easily through the digestive system into the bloodstream. Liposomes mimic cell membranes. they can fuse with your cells, releasing nutrients directly where they are needed.

Our concentrate first goes through the dual extraction process. We heat and sonicate the dried mushrooms with alcohol to extract the alcohol soluble compounds such as triterpenes, sterols, and phenolic compounds. We then heat and sonicate the mushroom powder in water to extract the water-soluble compounds such as beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and ergothioneine. Most companies sell the product of these two processes as an alcohol based dual extract. We remove all of the liquid through vacuum distillation, and use a dry, highly concentrated, soluble extract in all of our products.

A dual extract is more potent and more bioavailable than a mushroom powder. Mushroom powders are simply dried ground mushrooms, or in some cases, mycelium and grain. Dried mushrooms do contain all the original compounds but, the active ingredients are locked within the cell walls which are made of chitin. Chitin is the same material that makes up the exoskeleton of crab, shrimp, and beetles. Humans cannot digest chitin well. A dual extract is more bioavailable because the cell walls have been broken down in the extraction process. It is more potent because the active ingredients have been extracted from the cell, and the volume of liquid has been reduced, and in some cases the liquid is completely removed.
